Ready for take-off, The Sunshine Coast Mayoral Ball

Late last year we were faced with a challenge, the kind of challenge you can’t wait to tackle head on and turn into something fantastic. With a brief that read ‘the best Mayors Ball yet’ and a guest list of over 400 we needed a unique venue that would turn some heads, and a big one at that. After some serious negotiating, we secured McDermott Aviation’s hangar at the Sunshine Coast International Airport.  The extra-large space was a clean slate just waiting for us to work some magic, and that’s exactly what we did!

Chinese New Year, A divine Asian experience.

This extravagant Chinese New Year themed event was a night to remember for 250 Stellar BPO employees. The brief was to create a traditional, decadent and over the top celebration of prosperity, abundance and generosity. Guests were greeted with drinks on arrival before heading towards the stunning entrance, barely recognisable as Maroochydore RSL. As the guests moved through the ancient temple gates adorned with Cherry Blossoms and lanterns, they entered a Chinese wonderland. But there was oh so much more to this Asian fairy-tale.

So Fiona (super creative extraordinaire for Mask Events), Monopoly, that’s an interesting theme for an awards dinner. How many events have you used the Monopoly theme in before?

None, this is the very first Monopoly event we have created. We love coming up with new and fun ideas for our clients. We had a range of styling items that would work with this event such as our super sized dice, and our street lamps but we love to custom build new props for individual events.
