Transforming Stockland Birtinya Shopping Centre into a fun health and fitness Fit Kids Festival over the Australia Day weekend was an amazing way for Mask Events to kick off the year.
As a newly developed shopping centre, Stockland Birtinya were keen to keep up the momentum since their grand opening with even more fun and education for local families. The Australia Day weekend is typically pretty quiet for Sunshine Coast shopping centres (the Sunshine Coast beaches just have so much to offer for a long weekend!), so Mask Events worked with the Centre to create strong retail activations that would engage the community and bring traffic to the Centre.
Since it was almost time for the kids to go back to school, we focused on health and fitness for children with the two-day Fit Kids event.
And wow, did the Birtinya community get involved!
It was wonderful to see our event bring so many people through the centre across the Australia Day weekend. We love getting great results for our clients, and the Fit Kids event certainly delivered.
This was great news for retailers and cafes/restaurants. And well deserved, after all the hard work they put in to create engaging and fun health and fitness stations for the kids…
• The kids had a fab time creating their own healthy bowls at the Baby Bro Bowl Making station.
• Panda Sushi Making was an absolute ball! Lots of little chefs in the making.
• We set up a variety of fun Activation Areas through the centre for the kids to get out some excess energy (and make it easier for mum and dad to shop!)
• The Mini Ninja Course was a big hit, with the kids proudly showing off their awesome ninja skills.
• An important, but entertaining, Sun Smart Presentation had families ready and sun-smart for the rest of summer.
• A Self Defence Demonstration gave kids some useful tools and had them feeling strong.
• The Paediatric First Aid Demonstration was of great value to the parents and carers who joined us.
• The kids had a blast during Skateboarding Sessions with the pros.
• The budding chefs were back it with Rainbow Pizza Making. That’s at least 2 nights mum and dad don’t need to cook now.
Local families absolutely loved the event and spoke very highly of their experience on Instagram and Facebook. At Mask, we love creating events that bring results across all platforms, not just at the event itself.
