It’s incredible what can be achieved when passionate and creative people join together with a clear vision to deliver something amazing. Here we take you on the journey of the THRIVE NYE.
A serendipitous conversation in November 2020 between Domenic Fusca of Mask Events and his talented musician friend, Brett Gadenne of Sonic Artistry Entertainment led to the creation and delivery of a Festival that exceeded our wildest dreams.
Brett had a vision for an interactive music festival to end the year 2020 and start the fresh new year on an extra positive note, bringing together a community of like-minded people and celebrating our incredible local artists and musicians.
Together we wanted to deliver something that would blow minds and bring people together in genuine heartfelt human connection to kick start their 2021 and THRIVE like no other year.
Combining Brett’s creative vision with Sunny Coast’s event management gurus at Mask Events, then adding to that mix a collective network of 100+ musicians, artists, suppliers and volunteers, we were able to deliver the epic THRIVE NYE 2021 EXPERIENCE.
We exceeded what we set out to achieve.
The Festival was a sell out and the ongoing positive feedback we have had has been incredibly moving.
Mission accomplished.
We actually BLEW OUR OWN MINDS with what we achieved together!
The Thrive festival was packed with entertainment, music, dancing, comedy, poetry, inspiration, singing, yoga, massages, magic, delicious nutritious food, frozen sunshine, farm animals, a mud wrestling pit, ukulele lessons, fire twirling, children’s activities, acrobatics lessons and performances, an art gallery, a bonfire and several moving ceremonies, especially our intention setting ceremony on New Year’s Day with the lovely Lauren of Art of Connection. We experienced all of this surrounded by birds and trees on the beautiful “Maya” property on the Sunshine Coast.
We also partnered with a fabulous local Charity – “Reef Check Australia” who were our recylcing station. They used the money raised from recycling our rubbish from the festival to invest back into the incredible work their charity does on our Sunny Coast.
Over the two day event, there was mostly sunshine, with just a nice little bit of rain and mud to keep things interesting, plus a gorgeous full moon luminating our souls into the new year.
We even created a Spotify Thrive Music Playlist for guests to listen to when they want to reminisce about their Thrive Festival experience.
On arrival at the beautiful property “Maya” on the Sunshine Coast, guests were gifted their own personal “Intentions Pack”. Their “Intentions Pack” included a piece of paper to write down whatever they wanted to forgive or let go of in 2020. We all collectively wrote down what we wanted to release and as the sun set on New Year’s Eve, we held a ceremony where we all threw what we wrote into the huge bonfire and quite literally let it go. It was such a powerful way to release the challenges and disappointments of the year that was 2020 and allow ourselves the space and permission to start fresh.
In our intentions pack, we also gifted each guest a sachet with a native Australian tree seed with fertilizer. After a morning yoga session on New Year’s Day, we held an intention ceremony where 500+ people literally planted their seed on the property, along with their individual intentions for the year ahead.
Such a powerful and moving way to start the New Year together as a community. There were tears of joy, genuine heartfelt hugs, laughter and every emotion in between. We all went on a journey together where bonds were deepened and new friendships made. Those who attended agree it was an unforgettable experience and one they did not want to end. The memories created will last a lifetime.

The Mask team absolutely loved playing in this space and bringing true joy and connection to so many people. Creating experiences that enable heartfelt human connection is our passion and is why we love what we do.
We’re still on a buzz from the festival and we are already planning what’s next to reconnect this fun bunch of humans… hopefully, next time you will be able to join us too.
